Holly Willoughby proves she’s just like us with DIY hair transformation

Welcome back to the land of the living! It’s been a long time since we’ve had news from you. Why did you stay away in the first place? Because we understand how hard it is to be locked down for this long, especially when there are so many things happening in the world that need your attention. Or maybe it was because you’re just trying to save up some more time for fun stuff like getting new hair extensions or trying out a new colour. Whatever happened, we’re glad you’re back and looking great as always!

If, like us, you spent lockdown desperately trying out DIY blow-dries and home haircuts, we’re sure you’ll relate to our latest hair hero.

Holly Willoughby is a TV presenter who has been known to wear her long blonde locks down while presenting the news or on top of her head when she’s in high spirits.

Holly is also mum to three boys: Freddie (5), Harry (3) and George (1). Her hair is usually up but sometimes it goes down too! And we reckon this is because she wants us all to know that we can be proud of our tresses too – whatever colour they may be!

Yep, that’s right – it’s Holly Willoughby.

The British TV presenter and former model is a regular presenter on This Morning, where she teams up with Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton in the morning show’s main presenting chair. She has also worked as a reporter for a number of different shows including The Wright Stuff and Daybreak (now called ITV Breakfast).

Holly has been married to Dan Baldwin since 2011 after meeting him at a charity event in 2010 where he was an ambassador for Barnardo’s Children’s Charity. The couple has two children together: Archie James Baldwin-Willoughby (born 2013) and Beatrice Elsie Baldwin-Willoughby (born 2015).

The “This Morning” presenter gave us a glimpse at her own quick fix in a recent post on Instagram, showing off the results of a speedy salon hack she tried during lockdown.

  • Holly Willoughby gave us a glimpse at her own quick fix in a recent post on Instagram, showing off the results of a speedy salon hack she tried during lockdown (which, by the way, has been lifted today in England!).

The This Morning presenter showed off her new ‘do with pride as she shared a picture of herself with her hair styled into loose curls and pinned back into place using bobby pins. The look was achieved by using just one product: hairspray!

Taking to Instagram, the 40-year-old shared a snap of herself proudly rocking her new colour – which was achieved using DIY hair dye.

Holly Willoughby has taken to Instagram to share the results of her DIY hair transformation, which was achieved using a handy trick.

In the post captioned “Hair hack I tried during lockdown in Vegas”, Holly said: “I’m not going to lie: it looks great! I dyed my hair pink and had loads of fun with it.”

In the caption alongside her post, Holly explained that she’d decided to do something different with her blonde locks during lockdown – but maintained that she hadn’t completely abandoned her trademark golden tones.

Holly Willoughby had a simple message for the haters. In the caption alongside her post, Holly explained that she’d decided to do something different with her blonde locks during lockdown – but maintained that she hadn’t completely abandoned her trademark golden tones.

“All I’m saying is,” she wrote, “I haven’t gone full-on platinum yet.”

The star even credited stylist Paul Norton for helping to create the look remotely.

You see, Holly is a natural blonde. And in case you’re wondering, she’s also a fan of Paul Norton hair extensions. So what does this mean for her? Well, it means that she loves how her new blonde highlights look and feels. “They are amazing! I’ve been wearing them for about a month now,” she told us over email.

“They’re so much fun to wear out and about because they give me that pop without being too obvious,” said Holly. “I love the colour too – it’s like having a fresh start on my hair.”

Norton said that he worked remotely with Willoughby to create the style after she saw him on Instagram. “I did one take and then we went back into the studio,” he told Telegraph Magazine.”It was great fun.”

Holly Willoughby proved she’s just like us with a DIY hair transformation. The TV presenter turned to Paul Norton, celebrity hair stylist and founder of Paul Norton Salon in London, for help on her latest look—and he looks pretty good himself.

We can definitely relate.

While Holly was rocking her new do, we thought about our own hair disasters: the days when you wake up after a night out and realize that your hair looks like it’s been through a war zone; the time you decided to go natural and then found yourself with no idea how to style it; or the time you were trying on a hat for work only to find out it made your face look like an upside-down bowl of spaghetti.

And then there are those mornings when all of this isn’t even necessary because your locks have miraculously decided they want nothing more than to be left alone—but then again, what is “lazy” about going braids?

Holly will be back on air today, so you’ll be able to see how she looks in person.
