Vogue has picked up on the trend for soft browns and dark creams as we move from autumn to winter.
In particular, the word ‘hygge’ has been appearing again – a Danish word that used when “acknowledging a feeling or moment, whether alone or with friends, at home or out, ordinary or extraordinary as cosy, charming or special”.
Of course, to assign that word to an actual colour is taking it a bit too far but the idea is that blondes, brunettes and redheads are switching to warmer tones, perhaps with soft highlights or lowlights to complement.
It’s not all about playing down colour though – as Vogue’s article explains redheads can bring out auburn tones with low lights and highlights – make sure they complement your skin tone though.
